My name is CoCo Schramel. I love art, food, and sharing these passions with others. I live in Chicago, but was raised in New Orleans by a family of artists and restaurateurs, then spent some of my formative years in New York City. I draw inspiration from all three of these legendary cities.

I’m equally influenced by Louisiana’s abundant natural ecosystems. From a young age, I noticed intricate, artistic patterns in the sea life, botanicals, insects, and vegetables native to my home state. One of my goals as an artist is to illustrate the ethereal beauty of these strange-looking organisms. Today, many of my paintings and prints feature these species against surreal landscapes. My art is rooted in finding visual harmony in what might seem like opposites—metropolitan and rural, symmetry and chaos, celebrities and bugs.
